General info on Chitty Chitty Bang Bang the musical

This classic musical tells the story of a magical flying car, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, built by eccentric inventor Caractacus Potts. Together with his two children Jemima and Jeremy, Truly Scrumptious and Grandpa Potts, they try to outwit the dastardly Baron and the evil Child Catcher

The real star of the show is Chitty Chitty Bang Bang itself - a 1.5 tonne car that really flies, using state-of-the-art automation technology not seen on the theatre stage before. The car is the original from the London production, and holds the Guinness World Record for the most expensive prop in the history of British Theatre.
