I've booked a ticket on AirAsia for a trip to Macau on June 27, 2007. Cost of tickets - Zero, both ways. Only paid for airport charges. The tickets were part of the "Free 2 million tickets" offered by AirAsia sometime in Jan 2007.
We've booked our hotel accommodation at the Accor Hotels of group. (we'll give a review of the hotels when we are back)
This will be my first trip to Macau / Hong Kong. Incidentally, Hong Kong is celebrating its 10th year as a SAR (Special Administrative Region of Republic China, and there are many activities lined up for the celebration month (July- September).
Special anniversary events in Hong Kong during July to Sep 2007
1. Symphony of lights- coloured and laser lights beamed from more than 30 buildings at Victoria harbour. (Jul 1- 8)
2. Chinese Dinosaurs and pre-historic life, at the HK Museaum (May 25- Nov 25)
Friends have mentioned the following places to visit. Will come back with pictures of places we managed to visit.
1. The Peak - spectacular views of the city skyline as well as Victoria Harbour
Take the Peak Train - it climbs 373 metres (1200 feet) uphill and downhill
2. Peak Tower. Madame Tussuad's Hong Kong - more than 100 celebrity wax portraits.
3. Ocean Park. Attraction are marine life an animals, thrill rides, performances by various sea creatures.. Sea Jelly spectacular, SkyFair balloon ride. Giant panda cubs Le Le and Ying Ying gifts from Chinese government.
4. HK Disneyland. Fantasyland, adventureland, Tomorrowland.
5. Ngong Ping Village- Walking with the Buddha. Po Lin Monastery (lantau island) Wisdom path
6. HK Wetland park. Interactive world exhibition galleries. Mangrove Boardwalk
Not forgetting shopping. The HK Shopping carnival is from June 30- Aug 31. Right timing!

Note : If you are lucky, you can also get low-priced flight-tickets (as low as Rm 1, or US$0.30) to various locations within Malaysia / Bangkok/ Jakarta/ Cebu / Phnom Penh. Offer by Malaysian Airlines ends on June 22, 2007 (11am, Malaysian Time). Travel time is restricted to Sep 3- 30, 2007, coincides with Malaysia's 50th Independence anniversary on August 31.
