Floral Fest

January 2007: Floral Malaysia.

1. Saturday Jan 20 - Dataran Merdeka : Florathon.

Come dressed in your best floral-themed costumes for this 3km morning walk. Prizes totalling Rm 26,500. No entrance fee. If you are hosting your foreign friends, bring them along. Other concurrent activities : Bunga raya waiter race. 'Bunga Raya' is the Malaysian national flower.


2. Sunday Jan 21 - Putrajaya : Floral Hunt 2007.

To build up the momentum to the floral fest, there will be a treasure hunt on Sunday Jan 21, flagging off at 8 am from Putrajaya. Entrance fee Rm50 per person. Prizes Rm 3000 for first prize. Read more


3. Saturday Jan 27 - Putrajaya : Floral parade

A floral parade will be held on Saturday Jan 27, 2007 (starts at 8 am) at Putrajaya, featuring 18 beautifully decorated floats from all around Malaysia and the neighbouring countries. Children will love it as there will be marching bands and street performers as well.

This is the highlight of the Floral Fest 2007, which is held from Jan 20 - Feb 4, 2007, and is one of the 50 Spectacular Events for year 2007.

After the parade, the floats will displayed in an air-conditioned tent at Putrajaya for 3 days:
- Jan 27 (12 pm - 10 pm)
- Jan 28- 29 (10 am - 10 pm)

Admission fee for the static floral display is Rm 2 for adults, Rm 1 for children.
